Okay so this isn't so much a recipe as some ideas.
I think most of you know I am trying hard to lose weight and be healthier too. Not just a diet a true lifestyle change. Breakfast is one of the most important meals so here are 3 ideas. I am trying to get more fiber and protein, and of course fruits and veggies into my diet. So take it or leave it but just in case you were looking for some healthy options. I would much rather eat Reese's puffs for breakfast.
1. One serving of Coach's oats (steel cut oats you can buy at Costco, personally I like them better than Quaker oats)
splenda on my oatmeal
1/2 cup frozen berries
1/2 cup egg beaters ( I eat these in the morning because of course they have less calories but also because I frequently eat another egg at some point in the day.) Really they don't taste too bad.
All of this food and it is a lot is only 260 calories and has 18 grams of Protein.
2. 1/4 cup Kashi granola (this is where most of your calories come from)
Yoplait yogurt (there is others that are healthier but that is the only kind I can get here)
1/4 apple chopped
1/2 banana chopped
1/2 oz almonds (11 almonds)
This breakfast breaks out to 369 calories (a little on the high end) and 12 g protein.
3. 2 eggs scrambled
1 whole wheat English muffin
1 tsp margarine spread
Very easily you could add veggies to this without too many calories.
This breakfast is 310 calories with 19 g protein.
Hope some of you can enjoy this. Let me know if you have any other HEALTHY breakfast ideas.
I am working on my snack list right now and will post some of those soon. That is the hardest thing for me is to snack healthy and right. Nutella and banana's are so much tastier. Then of course I will get to some dinner recipes.
